PCA: The Plasticvillage Yahoo! Group

Our Plasticvillage Yahoo! Groups site has many interesting functions such as mailing lists, chat, polls, a place for archives (photo or text) and more. Yahoo! requires that you have a FREE account with them, so you will need to go through that process. They just need your e-mail address and a password of your choice.

Mailing lists. Members of the Plasticville group will be able to "post" a message to the group. When this is done, an Email is sent to every member of the group, plus one is saved on the site. This is great for allowing individual members to reach everyone else without having to go directly through the webmaster and the Plasticville homepage. Say you want to know if the garden shrubs were ever made in purple. Send a message to the group!

Chat. There is a simple, easy to use chat area for member use. I think regularly scheduled live chats will be a lot of fun and a great way to "meet" and get to know each other. However, we have never been able to get the chat to work!

Polls. Check out the polls section. This is really neat. There are several polls going on now!

Other stuff. There is a general place to post files whether they are pictures, text, spreadsheets, whatever. There is also a calendar, a links page, database and more.

You may have seen, or are a member of, the Plasticville group at Yahoo! Groups (external link). This group was inactive for a while but has been revived by a new Moderator. Many people are members of both the Plasticville group and the Plasticvillage group and good discussions and information can be found in both groups.
